Howe Bicycles and Tricycles was an advertising for the Howe Machine Co., a company that also produced bicycles in Glasgow, Scotland. The poster advertises a bicycle shop at 48 Boulevard de Sebastopol in Paris.
The Howe Machine Co. was originally known for producing sewing machines invented by Elias Howe, who patented the first sewing machine in the U.S. in 1846. The company later expanded into manufacturing bicycles, including both penny-farthings and safety bicycles. The Howe Machine Co. ceased operations around the mid-1880s.
